*** June 1975 the Late Bishop Lewis T. Tait, Sr. of Washington, D.C. installs Ethel M. Talbert-Spearman as pastor of Today’s Faith Church, later to become Faith Cathedral. Church met in storefront on Rutherford Road, Greenville. Number of members was six. Church moves to 404 Green Avenue after eight months. |

*** Former South Carolina Gov. Dick Riley awarded Bishop Spearman The Order of the Palmetto in 1983. |
*** In June 1985 the church moves to 200 Morris Street, Greenville, SC. Facilities included sanctuary, classrooms, and gymnasium. Outreach included food and clothing distribution and working with youth in a summer program. |
*** In 1989 the Look Up and Live Ministries organized. Pastor Ethel M. Talbert-Spearman takes on role of bishop. |
*** Early 1990s Bishop Spearman began a television ministry. |
*** In 1999: Church changes name to Faith Cathedral. |
*** In 2000 a new 22,000-square-foot building is completed at 7200 Augusta Road, Piedmont, SC |
*** The state Senate recognized her in April 2001 for her life’s work that has increased the kingdom of God and enhanced family values. |
*** The Greenville County Council proclaimed April 30, 2000, Bishop Ethel M. Talbert-Spearman Day, recognizing the opening of the new Faith Cathedral. |
*** Bishop Spearman received her Doctorate in Theology with a Major in Religious Counseling from Belford University in June of 2005. |
*** She is married to Charlie W. Spearman. He is the Senior Elder at Faith Cathedral. The couple has four children and six grandchildren. |
*** She enjoys singing, decorating, sewing, reading and art. |
